The News
So the doctor called this afternoon to let us know that Gabby DOES have a mild form of hip dyslpasia. It wasn't exactly the "no big deal" I thought it would be. They referred us to a pediatric orthopaedic doctor. We will have an appointment with him next week or the week after. We'll update you as we receive the information. As far as I have read, if the dysplasia calls for it, they do a minor surgery and then put her in a spica cast for 6-8 weeks. This would completely suck, but it is what it is. 2 months of discomfort is better than a lifetime. You can read more about this condition and see a photo of a spica cast at http://www.massgeneral.org/ortho/Hip_Dysplasia.htm.
