Happy Belated Birthday Papa John!
My dad's 60th birthday was back in mid-February. We were supposed to meet up with my sister and her family at my parents' house to celebrate around the time of his big day. Of course, Gabby got sick and we couldn't go. My sister's daughter Fiona is too little to have some snotty-nosed cousin running around and exposing her to toddler cooties.My father enjoys a good beer each day after his long trek walking up the stairs from the basement (he works from home). Upon suggestion from my mom, my sister and I decided it would be a good gift to get him 60 bottles of beer. (Okay, so you can all stop singing "60 bottles of beer on the wall, 60 bottles of beer..." right now. I mean it. Lalala! I'm plugging my ears.) My sister and brother-in-law selected a really great assortment of beer from a local specialty store. They came in an assortment of flavors and titles. My favorite was "He-brew: the chosen beer." Sorry we missed your birthday dad, but are glad you had a great time with Moira and Fiona and enjoyed your gift!

I am glad you got to visit him once Gabby got to feeling better. Another fun gift is a beer of the month club :)

Although I don't have a beer EVERYDAY, it was a great gift for a 60 year old man who has everything he really needs. And in response to Leslie, "NO PIZZA FOR YOU"!!

The 60 bottles of beer is a great idea! I will have to remember that next year for my dad's 60th. :) And Papa John, if you do have a beer a day, I won't tell.... :)
Wow! What a great idea!!! I agree w/ Kelly--we'll definitely be doing that for Stan next year! That's too bad you couldn't join them to celebrate. :( Happy belated birthday, Mr. Wilson!
