Budding Ar-teest
I'm not one to brag about my kid (okay, I am), but I do have to brag a little bit about her newest art skills. In mid-April, we went out to dinner with Kenton's dad, stepmom, and stepsister Johnna. Before dinner, Gabby was coloring in the blank, spiral-bound journal I carry in her diaper bag to entertain her (she loves it). She was showing them her new-found skill of drawing people's faces. Here is her artwork from that night. She draws round circles for heads, eyes, dot noses, scribbly-line-like eyebrows, crazy hair, and varying mouths. She did draw a picture of me, but it must have been on her placemat or something since I couldn't find it. I included an extra person we can call "mommy" for now. Oh, and for the record, Mommy and Papaw had the only smiling faces she drew!
(She did not draw the flower, but this was one of the best faces!)

WOW!!! That is really impressive! Way to go, Gabby!!
That is super impressive! My girls are still in the impressionistic phase :)
Nice work, Gabby!
That's super cool and definitely something to brag about! I remember learning about when kids learn to draw faces back in one of my education art classes in college. The whole progression of how they go from scribbling to making shapes then putting them altogether to make a picture is just fascinating to me. Very cool!
That is extremely advanced! Way to go, Gabbers! :) She is such a smartie. I remember my chilhood art class from college and if my memory serves, she is already in that preschematic phase! That usually isn't until ages 4-7 or something. Wowee!!
Go gabby!!! Very nice drawings. I'm impressed for sure!
Wow, that is definitely much better than anything from my three-year-old! Of course, this is from the momma who almost failed art in high school- not kidding. I ended up with a C which was my only C I ever got (in high school...college was a different story). :)
I'm very impressed with the way she draws the circles and put the facial features where they are supposed to be. That is great for a two-and-a-half-year-old! Can she please give my girls some lessons? :)
Gabby Van Gogh...... so it's no Mona Lisa like MY kid drew..... hahahah
seriously - it's super cute!!!! What talent!
