Miss you, again, Daddy!

While Kenton was driving to Chicago tonight for a convention tomorrow, Gabrielle and I hung out at Kristy's house with her kids and her two sisters. Kristy's daughter, Reese, has a cousin named Grace who is just over a year old. Reese LOVES to play with Gabby, but for whatever reason, kept calling her Grace tonight. Actually, she would call her "Grace, I mean, Gabby." It reminded me of my grandmother who used to always call me "Sarah-Emily" because she couldn't ever remember what my name was until she went through my sister's name first. After that went on for awhile, we teased her about it a little and she just morphed the two names together into "Grabby." It was so cute. Gabby is so lucky to have such a fan club! I don't think she was used to having all of the attention Reese gave her. Little does she know that someday she will be the one being attentive to a younger brother or sister. She better take notes from Reese.

When we arrived home for the evening, we took a photo and a little video for Daddy. We miss you, Daddy! We hate it when you are gone. :(

Beau's the name, playin's the game

Brooke (Beau's mom) posted the cutest post on Beau's blog today. It was so cute, I had to copy it directly. It's not plagarism when you quote the author, right?

Do you ever wonder what goes through a baby's mind? Well, here is an interpretation...

Beau: Gabby, your mom is SO much funnier than my mom.
Gabby: Yup. She sure is.
Beau: I know! She makes me have this crooked smile that shows off my two teeth! (My dad thinks I have three on the bottom but he is clueless).

Beau: Hey Gabby, do you want to play with this toy? I'll show you how!
Gabby: Beau, I can figure it out myself.

Second Cousins

Just thought we would share a few photos of Gabby's second cousin, Gedeon (my cousin, Richard, and his wife Debora's son). He is just adorable. Gedeon is 42 days older than Gabby and Gabby is 42 days older than Moira. We like to keep things consistent in our family.

Lil' Slugger

Since it was SOOO nice outside today, we took a walk to the park and then took some photos on the back deck. Gabby is sporting her baseball outfit I bought for Daddy before Gabby was born. She is just too cute, if I do say so myself.

Just sittin' here suckin' on my lip...

This is my best side.

Ooh, take the picture! It's very sunny!
C'mon, so sunny!

Uhh, what is this on my head?

Really trying, but sun...so...bright!

Piano Woman

I keep a few toys in Gabby's room for the times when I need to put her laundry away and she needs to be entertained. She hadn't played with her peek-a-boo piano her Great Aunt Denise gave her in awhile, so we pulled it out. Since Gabby loves to bang on things (pretty much everything is a drum to this mini percussionist), she enjoyed hitting all of the piano keys and making noise. Up until now, she didn't know what to do with this toy, but I think it is beginning to make sense now! What a little cutie! Mozart and Bach, here we come! Okay, we'll start with hot cross buns and chopsticks if you insist.

A Night with the Goldens

Gabby and Charlie hanging out on the couch

"Hey, Gabby. Can I hold your hand?"
Behind every strong man is a strong woman. :)

Gabby got to spend some good, quality time with her other boyfriend, Charlie Golden, tonight. He wooed her with his cunning wit and handsome looks. Charlie is the son of our friends, Ken and Betsy Golden, from church. Charlie is still recovering from his heart surgery a few months ago, but is doing sooooo well! What a little fighter! Ken and Betsy kindly invited us over for the most delicious dinner prepared with such care. Betsy, the babies, and I played in the living room while the men chatted and finished meal preparations. It was wonderfully relaxing. During dinner, Gabby jumped in Charlie's "Johnny Jumper"--you know, one of those bouncy things you put in the doorway the smashes up the kid's hands? Yeah, well Gabby's hands were smash-free. She loved it and bounced away for 45 minutes while we chowed down. It was such a nice, warm evening admist the sleet and rain that fell all day long. Here are some photos of the young friends.

Bookworm

Gabrielle has discovered the wide world of reading. Although her book library currently consists of soft, teething books, we hope to move her onto some Nancy Drew or Judy Blume soon.

My cup overfloweth the highchair

Here is a video of Gabby babbling (more like screaming) and banging her stacking cups on her highchair. Ahh...the life of a 6-month-old.

Walkin' the Dog

Gabrielle and Jack decided we needed to get out of the house and go for a walk since it was a whopping 55 degrees! It's better than the 18" of snow Sarah has up in Cleveland! Gabby sat in her stroller without her car seat today. What a big girl she is becoming! I think she liked being able to look at what was coming up as we strolled along. Jack accompanied us and barked at all of the strangers that looked threatening. Gabby's mood has improved greatly over the past two days. She has been overly happy and just so pleasant to be around. It is so wonderful getting to spend the day with a cute baby who smiles at me whenever I look at her. I'm so lucky!

Just Jack

Gabby and Jack were hanging out together on the couch today. I thought these photos captured it all.

Easter Fun

Gabrielle traveled to Ohio to visit her Grandma and Grandpa Wilson for Easter this weekend. Her cousin, Moira, and Aunt Sarah and Uncle Brian were also there. It was so fun watching Gabby and Moira finally notice one another. The older they get, the more they play with each other. This weekend they spent a lot of time trying to grab one another's faces and holding hands. It was too cute! Here are some photos of the big weekend.
