Bad Dog

Our little girl must have picked up how much we tell our dog that he is a "bad dog" (sorry, Jack...but you ARE annoying). She has learned to say "bad" and she will shake her hand at the dog when she does it. I can only imagine how she will "help" discipline future siblings if she is already picking this up!

Picnic at Mamaw's

Kenton and I took Gabby took a picnic at Kenton's grandma's house this past Sunday. It was great seeing his family and especially Gabby's cousins. I love this photo of Gabby and her Mamaw. The one of Emma is kind of dark, but you can see how well she posed for me on top of Kenton's uncle's boat.

Tag, You're It

An online friend of mine (whose blog I randomly encountered while surfing the net) tagged me for a meme. If you don't know what a meme is, it is basically a running list of questions that you answer and send to your friends. Then your friends place their own answers down for those questions and so on. Many memes exist in e-mail and on MySpace bulletins. I was honored that she tagged me since I find her blog quite interesting, humorous, and insightful. You can check out the marketingmommy blog here. So here are the rules and my answers:

First, the Rules:
1) Post these rules before you give your facts

2) List 8 random facts about yourself

3) At the end of your post, choose (tag) people and list their names, linking to them

4) Leave a comment on their blog, letting them know they’ve been tagged
And now… my facts:

1. I lived in 5 different cities when I was a child.

2. I hate the sound of people scratching their legs while wearing pantyhose. (Who wears panty hose anyway?)

3. I cannot stand sleeping in a bed that has disheveled sheets. I like them tucked in and taut.

4. I love it when my daughter nuzzles her face and cheeks into mine. It is the best feeling in the world.

5. I was the drum major of my high school marching band, but was also on homecoming court. They don't usually go hand in hand.

6. I am a "fill-in" singer for a 5-piece jazz and rock band.

7. My husband asked me to marry him before Easter brunch in front of my parents and his whole family.

8. I am a reality tv junkie...and so is my husband. I'm outing him as well. We both enjoy a good episode of Newport Beach (the "new" Laguna Beach) and The Hills (Who doesn't love LC?).

And I tag you:

The First Cut is the Deepest

Gabby had her first "boo boo" that was obvious to the general public. She took a small tumble and cut her forehead a little bit. It wasn't really that bad, but looked worse once it scabbed over. It didn't seem to slow her down at all, as you can see in the photos below.
Scarface #2

"Jack, let's jump rope! You go first. I don't care if you don't have opposable thumbs. Hold on to the rope!"

"What a knee-slapper! Jack, you are hilarious...and stinky. Stinky and hilarious."

"I love my Daddy."

"Jack, you aren't bored with this training session are you?"

"Oh, yeah, Gabby...right there. Keep rubbing!" --Jack

I Want To Grow Old With You

While searching through our computer's external hard drive for some photographs tonight, I came across this photo of Kenton and I taken in August of 2003. We had been dating for 10 months and engaged for 4 months. I just couldn't believe how young we look in it. It is crazy how you don't think you look that different until you see photos like these. It is strange seeing Kenton in glasses since it has been years since his lasik eye surgery! It's good to know that his dislike of shaving has remained consistent over the years. It is also nice knowing that I still love him the same way I did when we first fell in love. Thanks for being a wonderful husband, sweetheart!

Children's Museum

So I have been really bad about posting things on the day that they happen. Last week, Gabby went to the Children's Museum with her friends Beau and Marielle. We met her other friends, Sawyer and Madeline, at the museum. They enjoyed the baby playspace for hours. I forgot my camera like the dork that I am. SO, if you would like to see photos from the big day, I am going to lazily direct you to Marielle's blog. There are a couple of cute ones of Marielle and Gabby exploring the wall of buttons and switches. Check out http://random-tuesday.blogspot.com/.

Biscuit, please!

Gabby loves the Gerber "Biter Biscuits" that are like thick crackers. They get all over her when we give her one, but she loves them so much it is worth it. Don't even try to take one away from her unless you are prepared for a huge tantrum!

Charlie and the Gabby Factory

I thought I would snap a few photos of Charlie and Gabby this morning while they were playing. Charlie can now clap and is SO close to crawling. He moves backwards. Does that count? Gabby likes having Charlie around, but still isn't exactly gentle with other kids. She doesn't seem to understand that poking someone in the eye does NOT feel good! I still love her, though!

Pretty smiles, as always.

Gabby choosing to sip her sippy cup rather than play with the toy she just stole from Charlie. Nice kid, that Gabby.

Playdate with Grace

Gabby's friend, Grace (Kelly's daughter), just became a big sister this week! The newest addition to the Weseli family is Baby Clare Kathryn. She was 9 lbs. 6 oz. and has a full head of hair! A week before the baby arrived, Gabby and Grace played together before life became really crazy. As you can see, it was so thrilling to Ryan (Kristy's son), that he fell asleep at the lunch table. It's hard being the only boy! Poor guy.
"Grace, your cheeks are so easy to grab. I am very gentle, aren't I?"

Tooth Fairy

Although most people would consider this a big deal, I keep forgetting to blog about Gabby's tooth that finally came in! She got it two Sundays ago. Since then, the other bottom front tooth has been shying its way to the top of her gumline. I think it will pop through today or tomorrow. She has been doing fairly well with the whole teething thing. Sure, she's cranky here and there when her teeth her hurting her and she gnaws on things, but overall she is much more pleasant than a month ago! We have been brushing her tooth and gums everynight for the past few days. Hopefully this will help her to develop a life of healthy dental hygiene and a passion for pearly whites. We'll keep you posted on the remaining teeth as they emerge.

Good News

Gabby had her hip appointment with the pediatric orthopaedic doctor today. We were in there for less than 5 minutes. The doctor had looked at her x-rays before our arrival and told us that her hip was so minimally displaced that it wasn't anything to worry about. He felt like she would be fine and grow without problems. We are supposed to get it x-rayed in one year as a check-up to ensure that she is growing without issues. It was great news! He also told us she would outgrow the assymmetry in her leg folds. Doctor's offices have sure changed over the years. Gabby's room was a princess paradise. Here are some photos of her medical palace.

Need...more...sleep

Kenton has been so overworked recently and needs to make sleep a priority! He works all day and then comes home, plays with Gabby/helps with dinner/bedtime, then works until he goes to bed. Boy, does he need a break. Consequently, as much as I love Gabrielle, when Daddy is gone all the time, Mommy has overtime with the baby. Gabby has had a really screwed up schedule recently due to the fact that I keep having to take her to my in-law's house during the day while people are putting a new roof and siding on our home. She just doesn't sleep well when it isn't her own crib. Anyway, she and Daddy crashed tonight after their long, hard days.

I Keep on Fallin...

Puh-sketti

Gabby dug her first tastes of real pasta with marinara sauce. Yum! Here is evidence of the yummy mess.
